GIS II
GIS II is an Advanced course in geographic information systems and their applications. Through detailed examination of conceptual issues and in-depth laboratory work, students develop and implement a project that involves the computer analysis of spatial data
For this map, I digitized a historic map of Medical Lake from the 1940's. To do this I created points, lines, and polygons to represent school locations, railroads, highways, and prominent land areas.
For the Final project in GIS II we were split into groups but also had a individual portion. This map shows the portion of the project I worked on. In this project, I digitized and old Washington railroad map for 1908. I digitized all the different railroads and the towns that lie on them. On top of that, I digitized areas where Native American languages are prevalent.
This was the georeferenced map used to create the digitized version of the 1908 Railroads map
