GIS I is an introductory survey of geographic information systems. Focus is on 1. computer techniques for the input, storage, manipulation, analysis and output of spatial data and 2. the social and administrative creation and dissemination of geographic information
In this project, I used a JPEG of a map of Skyrim to create a digital copy of the map.
In this map I use data collected from the Spokane County Auditors Office to create a crime density map in the neighborhoods within the City of Spokane
These two maps were part of the final project for this class. In this project I found the prime location to open a store given certain constraints. The store had to be within a certain radius of a bus stop and in an area where crime was relatively low to the are. To complete this I turned point crime data into a kernel density heat map and used geoproccessing to find the perfect area to open a new store.
